Through a Telegram channel, you can send a message to multiple users in just a few seconds. Users have to subscribe to your channel to get access to your content.

Here we will guide you through how to create a Telegram channel followed by how you can add or remove admins and subscribers to your channel, and how to edit the details of the channel.

Creating a Telegram channel

Launch Telegram and follow the steps below to create a channel.

  • Tap on the Hamburger (triple horizontal bars) icon on the top left corner of the screen.
  • On the next screen tap on New channel option.
  • Then type the name you want to set for your channel.
  • You can set a description for your channel and add a profile picture for your channel.
  • Then tap on the Tick mark button on the top-right corner of the screen.
  • On the next screen, you can set whether to make your channel private or public. Anyone can find and join a public channel while private channels can only be joined via an invite link.
  • After selecting your channel type tap on the Tick mark button on the top-right corner of the screen.
  • On the next screen, you can add your subscribers.
  • Then tap on the Arrow (in the blue circle) button on the bottom-right corner of the screen to create your channel.

Adding or removing admin to your Telegram channel

Open your Telegram channel and follow the steps below to add or remove an admin from your channel.

Adding admin

Here’s how you can add an admin to your channel and also control what they’re allowed to do on your channel.

  • Tap on the channel’s name at the top of the chat window.
  • On the next screen tap on the Administrators option.
  • Then on the next screen tap on Add admin option. 
  • Then a list of your contacts in the channel will appear tap on the user you want to make the admin.
  • On the next screen, you can set the select what this admin can do in the channel.
  • Then tap on the Tick mark button on the top right corner of the screen to add that contact as admin of your channel.

Removing admin

Follow the steps below to remove an admin from your Telegram channel.

  • Open the channel and tap Tap on the channel name at the top of the chat window.
  • On the next screen tap on the Administrators option.
  • A list of admins of the channel will appear. Tap on the admin’s name you want to remove.
  • On the pop=up box, tap on the Dismiss admin option to remove the admin.

If you want to edit the rights of the admin tap on the Edit admin rights option in the step above..

Adding or removing subscribers

Open your Telegram channel and follow the steps below to add or remove an subscriber from your channel.

  • Tap on the channel name at the top of the chat window.
  • On the next screen tap on the Subscribers option.
  • Then in the next tap on the Add Subscriber option.
  • Then a list of your contacts will appear. Tap on the contact you want to add as a subscriber and you can invite subscribers via the link.
  • Then tap on the Tick mark (in blue circle) button on the bottom right corner of the screen.
  • A confirmation box will appear tap on Add option.

Removing subscribers

Follow the steps below to remove subscribers from your channel.

  • Tap on the channel name at the top of the chat window.
  • On the next screen tap on the Subscribers option.
  • A list of subscribers of the channel will appear tap on the subscriber’s name you want to remove.
  • A box will appear tap on the Remove from channel option to remove the subscriber.

Editing Telegram channel details

  • On the next screen tap on Edit (pencil) icon.
  • Then all details of your channel will appear You can change your type, description and you can add and remove administrators and subscribers.
  • After changing your channel tap on the Tick mark button on the top right corner of the screen.
