Telegram is an instant messaging application very similar to WhatsApp, which allows you to exchange messages and make audio or video calls to your contacts.

The similarities between the two don’t stop there: just like WhatsApp, Telegram also lets you format your messages when you send them. However, not everyone knows how to do this. Formatting your text when typing on mobile

Step 1: join Telegram and select the contact you want to send a message to. Then, to send your text in italics, just put two dashes (__) before and two after the word or phrase. Don’t be surprised if the message doesn’t appear formatted in the message box. When you tap “Enter”, it will automatically change and look like the image below:

Step 3: already, to type the words in bold, add two asterisks (**) at the beginning and two at the end of what is typed. The result can be seen below:

Step 4: if you want to send your text with a line in the middle, just insert two uncles (~~) at the beginning and two at the end.

Step 5: finally, if you want your text to have a space between one letter and another, just put three backticks at the beginning (“`) and three at the end of the words or phrases.

Now, if you don’t want to format the text by putting symbols before it, you can do that in an easier way. On mobile, just select the word or phrase and press it until the formatting options appear.

Now, if you want to format Telegram text on your computer, just select the text and right-click on it. Then, just select “Formatting” and choose the desired option. However, this option is not available on the web, only for the computer application, which can be downloaded from this link.
