Pavel Durov is a closed book, in some way. In 2014, he sold out his share of ʺVKontakteʺ and emigrated from
Russia. He acquired citizenship on St. Kitts and Nevis Caribbean island and got busy with the Telegram messenger
which is currently estimated at a billion dollars. At the same time, Durovʼs private life is

Throughout the Internet, Pavel Durov is constantly called a prize catch but… is he really a single man? It was
rumored for a long time that he was married to Darya Bondarenko – a journalist from St. Petersburg who studied
on the faculty of History of St. Petersburg State University. Later, she became known as the Durovʼs ʺcommon-law
wifeʺ. Their acquaintance is described in the Nikolay Kononovʼs book called ʺThe Durov Codeʺ. A couple met when
Darya interviewed Pavel for the ʺStudenʺ campus newspaper. The book says that she liked his ʺhaughty facial
profileʺ and ʺfree of stereotypes perception of the worldʺ.
As for Pavel, he disproved information on his marriage during the interview with Kononov. Durov said that he had
a document certified by a notary which bore witness to that fact. Pavel claimed that he wouldn’t marry on
principle. The point is that he considers a marriage to be “a clerical and feudal personality suppression tool”
which makes a person an integral part of the system.

Rumor has it that Durov has two children and they are not his ʺVKontakteʺ and ʺTelegramʺ projects.
In 2014, Lifenews made an enquiry to St. Petersburg Civil Registration and got a document, according to which
Pavel has a son and a daughter born in 2009 and 2010. Pavel Valerievich Durov and Bondarenko Darya Michailovna
are mentioned as their parents. Moreover, both children are registered to be residing at Durov’s parents from
St. Petersburg.

Darya’s friends don’t confirm these gossips. They say that the couple really had a love affair but they were
together for a very short period of time. In addition, there are a lot of photos in Darya’s Instagram but you
won’t find any with children. “When I heard about that nonsense, I lost my mind!”, Durov commented this weird
story.

It is hard to say for sure who exactly Durov is dating now and whether this information is actually true. There
exist two versions in the Internet. According to the first one, Durov avoids the relationship with women and
spends all his spare time alone. The second one says that he is a womanizer with a penchant for models, who
