Google Chrome has an incognito mode that helps you in private browsing cause it doesn’t save any history and when you close the browser, all the history and browsing data get cleared automatically. Sometimes you have to hand over your phone to someone while you were privately browsing on it, and you don’t want to close the incognito tabs to lose your data and also don’t want them to see what you were browsing, what will you do?
Well, Google has a new feature for you. You can now lock Chrome incognito tabs with a password. Read on to know, how!

Lock Chrome Incognito Tabs with Password
With the latest feature, you will be able to lock your Chrome Incognito tabs, and thus it could be accessed by you only. This is not yet released for all and is available as Chrome flags only.
Supported Devices
Also, this feature is currently available only for iPhones with Face ID support. This means you can lock incognito mode if you are using iPhone X and later iPhone versions.
Steps to follow to enable Face ID on Chrome Incognito
Follow these steps to lock your incognito mode tabs with Face ID:
1. First, open Google Chrome on your iPhone and type chrome://flags in the address bar, and tap Enter.
2. Now, type “Device Authentication for Incognito” in the search box at the top.
3. When you see the “Device Authentication for Incognito” flag, tap ion drop-down menu below this and then choose “Enabled” from the options.
4. After enabling this, close the Chrome browser to apply these changes.
5. Open Chrome again and tap the three-dot menu in the bottom-right and select “Settings.”
6. Tap on “Privacy” and on the next page, turn on the “Lock Incognito Tabs When You Close Chrome” toggle. Tap on “Done” at the top.
That’s all. The next time you’ll open the Incognito tabs, it will ask you to unlock with Face ID.
If you want to disable this, you can turn off the toggle for the “Lock Incognito Tabs When You Close Chrome” option by following the same steps as mentioned above.
