Hiveterminal: Telegram Restructuring

After witnessing a rise in spam and a rapid decline in the quality of communication on our Q&A Telegram channel, we have decided to implement changes in the way our team uses Telegram as a communication tool. Our Slack channel — and later our Telegram channel, as well — has always been an important communications gateway to our contributors and supporters. It is where we established credibility, created one amazing community and helped many with their questions on Hiveterminal’s business model and strategy, and directed people to our support channels to help them with any technical problems. Lately, however, we are experiencing the same issues that originally prompted us to go from Slack to Telegram. Apart from a never-ending stream of spam from shady accounts, we are witnessing rude and offensive behavior from some — mostly anonymous — members.

This has begun to take its toll on our team, our brand and on other members of the community, including some of our better-known supporters. This kind of communication was not something we had in mind when starting a community here. For the sake of the company, community, our users, and especially all of you that would like to see Hiveterminal succeed and help us get there, changes have to be made.

A New Channel for Verified Users

We think our Telegram should become one of the crucial user-oriented channels where questions about the product can be raised and answered in a timely manner and support can be received directly from the team. We want it to be our all-in-one marketing, sales, and support tool. Current and potential users with questions about the product should be able to ask questions without being surrounded by anonymous trolls posting GIFs and talking nonsense about the product or the team. We just cannot have this kind of communication on our official channel and we want better for those of you that want to help Hiveterminal succeed. We want to answer the questions about the product on a daily basis. We have a common goal and we would like to be there for you.

The current Hiveterminal Channel will thus be renamed the “Hiveterminal Community Channel” and our team will stop monitoring it all together on Monday, 28 January. A new “Hiveterminal Official” channel will be made in order to run all communications with our users and those that would like to become one. The communication there will be bi-lingual at first (with English being used mostly), as our users will have questions in the Slovenian language as well. In order to conduct a proper level of communications, we are putting an end to anonymity! In order to join new Hiveterminal Official Channel, you will need to register on Hiveterminal either as invoice buyer or seller and pass the user verification process.

Using the same email used for Hiveterminal registration, you will then need to send your Telegram username to our email — support@hiveterminal.com. Our Hiveterminal Support Team will personally verify that you’re a user of Hiveterminal and add you to the new Telegram channel. It is open to all that want to talk about Hiveterminal, no matter whether they currently own Hiveterminal Token (HVN) or not.

We thought long and hard about how to establish an environment where invoice sellers and buyers could discuss the potential of Hiveterminal and get a fast and accurate response from our team. We know that the majority of people have only the best intentions and will still, even with a short user verification procedure, use our Telegram channel, as we want to keep direct communications with our users. With this new channel, we believe we are making the first step forward in aligning our sales, marketing and branding strategies.

Telegram Announcements Channel Will Remain

Our Telegram Announcement channel will remain a viable communication tool for Hiveterminal going forward and will remain the default channel to communicate the news with supporters and contributors.

How Will We Do Our Weekly Q&A Without Telegram?

The Q&A format we would like to bring about would not be possible in the current state of our Telegram Q&A channel. We will publish answers in blog format. You can expect us to post them once a week.

IMPORTANT: Our upcoming Q&A will happen early next week and will be held by our CEO Jure Soklic. We will focus on the growth plan for 2019 and tech milestones. You can send your questions directly to our team at support@hiveterminal.com with the subject “Hiveterminal Q&A”.

PS: For the last 4 days the team has been working on the field, presenting Hiveterminal to users on a daily basis. We will soon write more on the topic.
