Crypto Scam Alert – Fake Polygon Support Channels on Telegram on the Rise

Hey People,

Please be careful out there, it’s a wild wild west kinda place. Spread the word..

The community driven experience is great to create trust around your crypto – but it’s even greater when it comes using this trust against you.

I had a problem with an opensea.io transaction trying to make an offer on a NFT. My ETH should be swapped through the Polygon Bridge but that never happened. My ETH (Money!) is stuck in some smart contract. Though the transaction status is „successful“ on Etherscan.

Doing my research I found out that there was an update on Ploygon called Heimdal… (let’s skip the technical part)… and YES, the chain works – NO, the Bridge (swap/deposit on Polygon) does not work until Dev found a final solution.

It‘s a Trap !

Like thousands of other unhappy swappers I brought all my hopes and fears to the fake community driven support and help channels.

There are literally hundreds or thousands of scammers out there. They will act like admins or official support. They even share scam warnings and still DM you later.

It‘s an entire scheme and thousands of users follow it giving it more momentum for scammers.

They sound very sophisticated:

Your wallet is not synced with the backend, we need to fix this with our firmware. Please fill out form.

There is a problem with the Masternodes, we need help you fix this. Send me a screenshot.

This is normal maintenance please follow the procedure.

Always Block Direct Messages – it’s 100% fake and scam!

While I was gaining awareness I was also sharing it on these channels. As soon as I revealed their scheme and try to warn others they blocked me out of the group.

That’s why I came up with the idea of sharing my experience here. Hope it’s appreciated.

At the moment all we can do is wait for the fix and listen to official channels. This is my plan. Patience.

Please follow the official channels and only trust official intel about Polygon Bridge deposit status.
