In the latest beta update, v7.6.1 Telegram got a minor improvement to voice chats functionality. Now you can see profile pictures in a bigger view.
On a separate note, you may notice voice chat recordings being automatically pinned to the channel when the chat is over.

Join a voice chat on any channel.
Tap on any profile from the list of participants.
