KuCoin Telegram Listing Competition Clarification
Dear KuCoin Users,
Given the latest series of Twitter attacks about the telegram listing competition on KuCoin, we feel it is necessary to explain further why we decided to list LockTrip (LOC).
The token that got most of the votes was indeed Apollo currency. With that being stated, a large percentage of these votes were not made by real users, but by people trying to manipulate the vote count. One of the rules of the competition was that users had to create an account on KuCoin for their votes to count.
After the competition was over and we looked at the accounts used to vote, we quickly saw a substantial percentage of Apollo votes came from accounts that used throwaway emails, only created to cast a vote. There was no email verification or 2FA activation on most of these accounts which we perceived as a form of vote manipulation.
We also carried out our routine quality check, and Apollo did not pass. Based on these two reasons, we decided not to list this project on KuCoin.
Silent Notary came in second place in the voting competition. The decision not to list them was because of a technical incompatibility (SNTR/BTC price has nine decimals, while KuCoin trading platform is designed to support only eight decimals).
LockTrip (LOC) came in third place in the voting competition. Given that they passed our quality check and had the best ratio of email verified and 2FA activated KuCoin accounts, we decided to declare them as the winner of the competition.
We hope this explanation helps to clarify the situation about the Telegram competition, and why we listed LockTrip (LOC).
